City Farm East Perth - June 2010 update
The City Farm Garden Cafe opened for business on Tuesday 22nd June. This was a ‘soft’ opening to enable the Cafe Manager and staff to get into the flow of things. Already it is a buzz attracting people from the neighbouring TAFE, Health and Education Departments and local East Perth residents and more.  TAFE hospitality training courses linked to the Cafe will commence in August.  Central TAFE Men’s Shed projects and Horticulture and Construction course students played an important part in getting the Cafe and surrounds ready for the opening.   Photographs are courtesy of Resolutions-group.

We look forward to announcing the official launch date soon.  This is anticipated to be in August

Almost there!  These photos show some of the furniture and the lights being tested.  The Cafe will be opened to the public from Tuesday 22nd June. It is opened on week days  from 7am until 2pm and on Saturdays from 8am til 1pm.  The Cafe will also be able to cater for special functions.  An official launch is being planned for July.  Check this site for updates.

City Farm East Perth - November 2009 update
City Farm, once a polluted scrap metal yard next to the railway station in City Farm Place (see location map below) is testimony to believing in a dream and working to make it happen, according to founder and past president of Men Of The Trees, Rosanne Scott.

Perth City Farm is pleased to announce that it has been successful in obtaining Lotterywest funding valued at $281,000 to upgrade the offices and the two warehouse areas to convert these to a standard that would be more useable by wider community. This funding also includes a community kitchen to the required Health standards enabling the kitchen to be used in connection with the warehouses to stage community events.

The good news does not end there. City Farm has, in partnership with West Coast, Central TAFE and Growing Communities WA, been successful in obtaining a Department of Education, Employment and Work Place Relations(DEEWR) grant to development a Training Cafe at City Farm. This has been a dream that started more than 12 years ago. This grant is valued at over half a million dollars and includes a fully outfitted sustainable solar powered Cafe.
