The St Barbe Grove Nursery located in Hazelmere (see location map below) is the headquarters of Men Of The Trees in Western Australia. The nursery was established in 1987 and grows in excess of 200,000 seedlings each year - most of which are sent to help bind the soils of our rural land but seedlings are available to the general public. The nursery is manned by volunteers under the professional supervision of Ross Burnett, our nursery manager. It is a hive of activity throughout the year and so popular that if you don't get there by 9.00am you won't find a place in the car park (but we will fit you in somewhere!).
You can learn how to grow native trees by coming along to the nursery. No experience or horticultural knowledge is necessary, just a big smile and a willingness to work. There's always good company and a worthwhile job to do (we have work to suit all fitness levels). The nursery is also the centre of many Society activities. Contact Ross on (08) 9250 1888. We are open 8.30am - 3.00pm each weekday.
